I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I am currently completing a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and have acquired a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. I am an executive contributor for Brainz Magazine, which has been recognized as the #7 Business Magazine in the world.
Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients. I utilize an integrated holistic approach to counselling with a primary focus on a mind-body relational perspective. I am passionate about my work and I believe that each individual is unique, and change is always possible. I work collaboratively with my clients and offer empathetic listening, compassion, acceptance, and support.
Holistic Therapy is a combination of healing and rejuvenating the mind and body through counselling, nutrition, and meditation. I take a holistic approach to counselling, working with people to guide them as they build a stronger foundation with their emotional, physical and psychological selves.
Treatment focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. This is achieved by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. I provide clients with the tools they need to develop effective solutions to the challenges they face.
Therapy is a process designed to produce lasting change in your life. The goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counselling and treatment, you are given the tools to recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has been proven to be especially effective in treating depression. Counselling can help you deal with any negative thoughts and feelings while providing objective guidance towards your personal growth.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Counselling can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Professional Coaching is a tool that focuses on the positive aspects of the human condition to develop leaders to have a greater organizational impact on business growth. Professional Coaching increases competitive advantage and sharpens skills to help individuals and organizations accurately connect business goals to professional development. Effective coaching enhances workplace performance, goal achievement, and wellbeing in teams and organizations by utilizing evidence based methods grounded in scientific research. Professional Coaching promotes increased levels of motivation for individuals when facing new roles and challenges at work and in their own personal lives.
Rates per session are $130.00 based on the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors schedule of fees. Sessions are typically 50 minutes however longer sessions are available upon request for an additional fee. A select number of sliding scale appointments may be available based on financial need and availability. Please contact me for further information. Fees are payable at each session by cash, debit, e-transfer, or credit card.
I treat people insured by ICBC and am able to directly bill for eligible counselling services.
I am a service provider for the CrimeVictim Assistance Program. If you or your child has been a victim of crime you may be eligible for counselling through this program. Note that CVAP reimburses for a portion of the fee ($80.00 per session) with the remainder payable by the client.
Most counselling services are covered by your workplace benefits package or health insurance. It’s important to check with your provider to find out what your plan covers, as every plan is different for each individual.
